What Is Seed Audio 1.0?

Seed Audio 1.0 is an AI audio generation model designed to create realistic dialogue, sound effects, and immersive audio scenes from text prompts. Instead of generating sounds separately, it brings voices, ambience, and effects together in one cohesive audio experience.

With the Seed Audio 1.0 generator, you can describe an entire scene—from a conversation in a busy café to footsteps in a quiet hallway or a train announcement echoing through a station. Simply specify the dialogue, emotions, background sounds, and timing to guide your audio creation.

Explore six Seed Audio 1.0 examples for documentaries, podcasts, short films, games, product demos, and nature ambience. Listen to each scene and copy its prompt as a starting point for your own audio.

01 · English

Documentary Narration

Create an English nature-documentary narration. Use a calm, thoughtful narrator with natural pauses. Let the narration and scene develop at a natural pace. Narration: “Before the city wakes, the river is already moving. Beneath the bridge, water carries yesterday’s rain toward the sea. A heron waits along the bank, still enough to disappear into the reeds. Then the first train crosses overhead, and the quiet changes. For a few moments, the rhythms of the city and the river meet.” Begin with flowing water and a few distant birds. Bring in a subdued train rumble during the final sentence, without masking the narrator. Add a soft, sparse piano bed and finish with a brief stretch of river ambience.

02 · English

Podcast Conversation

Create an English podcast exchange between two distinct speakers in a quiet recording room. Allow natural pauses without overlapping dialogue, and let the conversation determine the length. Host, curious and conversational: “You started taking the same walk every morning. What changed?” Guest, relaxed and reflective: “At first, nothing. Then I started noticing things—the bakery opening, the same dog waiting at the corner, how the light moved across the street.” Host, with a small smile in the voice: “So the route stayed the same, but the walk didn’t?” Guest: “Exactly. I stopped treating it like time between other things.” Use close, clear voices with subtle room tone. Add a brief, quiet instrumental intro that fades before the first line. Do not add a crowd, applause, or background music beneath the conversation.

03 · English

Short Film: Station Arrival

Create a short film audio scene on a covered railway platform. Let the pauses and scene length follow the action naturally. Start with a light wind, quiet platform ambience, and an approaching train in the distance. Play a short announcement chime, then a calm female announcer says in English: “The next train arriving at platform three is the service to Riverside. Please stand behind the yellow line.” After the announcement, a nearby traveler asks quietly: “Is this our train?” A second traveler replies: “Yes. We made it.” Bring the train closer after the dialogue, followed by soft braking and a door-opening sound. Keep the announcement intelligible, the nearby voices distinct, and the station reverberation subtle. Do not add music.

04 · English

Game Quest Sound Cue

Create a fantasy-game quest cue. Let the dialogue and sound events determine its length, without unnecessary silence. Begin with two footsteps on stone, a leather satchel opening, and a small metal key being lifted. A steady male companion says in English: “That’s the key. The north gate should open now.” After the line, play a quiet magical shimmer followed by a distant stone mechanism unlocking. Finish with a short, restrained musical resolution. Keep the voice centered and clear, with each effect entering in the described order. No additional dialogue or battle sounds.

05 · English

Product Demo Voiceover

Create an English product-demo voiceover for a small wireless speaker. Use a friendly, clear female voice at a comfortable instructional pace. Let the instructions and natural pauses determine the length. Say: “Place the speaker on a flat surface. Press and hold the power button until the indicator lights up. Next, open your device’s Bluetooth settings and select the speaker. When you hear the confirmation tone, you’re connected. Start your audio, then use the buttons on top to adjust the volume.” Add a quiet instrumental bed with soft keyboard notes. Place a subtle power-on sound after the second sentence and a confirmation chime after “you’re connected.” Keep effects separated from the spoken words and the music below the narration. End cleanly after the final instruction.

06 · No dialogue

Nature Ambience for Relaxation

Create a forest ambience bed for a relaxation video. Let the environmental changes develop naturally, with no fixed duration. Include no speech, singing, or music. Establish gentle rain on a leafy canopy and a small stream flowing nearby. Keep the stream steady while individual droplets occasionally land in a shallow puddle. Introduce a soft breeze through the trees, let it settle, then add one or two distant bird calls during a lighter patch of rain. Allow the scene to evolve gradually without sudden loud events or obvious repeated patterns. Preserve a soft background with distinct, occasional foreground droplets. Fade in gently and end with a gradual, natural fade-out.

Core Capabilities

Seed Audio 1.0 Features

The following Seed Audio 1.0 features describe the model. Service availability and exposed controls can differ from those research capabilities.

Scene-Level Audio Generation

Seed Audio 1.0 supports voice, sound effects, and ambience in one scene. Describe their relationship: foreground speech, quieter room tone, and an event that occurs between lines. Review the generated balance.

Expressive Voice Performance

Seed Audio 1.0 voice generation can use directions for emotion, pace, rhythm, and speaking style. Write observable performance instructions, such as a measured pause or a quiet delivery.

Voice Creation from Description or Reference

Seed Audio 1.0 supports voice descriptions and authorized audio references without separate training for each speaker. Use recordings you have permission to provide. Check pronunciation and speaker identity.

Dialogue Timing Control

Seed Audio 1.0 supports prompt-level dialogue timing at 100 ms intervals, according to ByteDance Seed. Specify when spoken lines should enter. Timing precision concerns dialogue, not every sound effect.

Multilingual Audio Creation

Seed Audio 1.0 supports multilingual speech at the model level. On this website, the spoken language follows the selected voice. Browse the voice support list and select Use this voice to load a voice in your desired language. Prompt only, Auto-select voice, and uploaded references use English by default; entering a different language in the prompt does not change that setting.

Longer Audio Generation

Seed Audio 1.0 supports up to two minutes in one generation and further continuation at model level. Review voice consistency between separate scenes. This workspace currently provides no dedicated continuation control.

Workflow

How to Use Seed Audio 1.0

Create audio with Seed Audio 1.0 in three steps: choose a voice or reference, describe your scene, then generate and preview.

Choose a Voice or Reference

Under Voice & references, select Prompt only to generate without a voice or reference, or choose Voice library, Reference audio, or Reference image. Pick a built-in voice, let AI decide, or upload your own reference. You can add up to 3 audio clips, each up to 30 seconds and 10 MB, or 1 image up to 10 MB. Only the selected source is used per generation.

Describe Your Audio and Review Settings

In Describe your audio, write the dialogue, speakers, emotions, setting, and sound cues. If you added a reference, explain how it should guide the scene. Keep the defaults or open Show settings to choose File format and Sample rate, then adjust Speed, Volume, or Pitch if needed.

Generate and Preview

Sign in and click Generate audio. When your Seed Audio 1.0 result is ready, listen in Audio preview or find it in My Creations. To try a different result, refine your prompt or settings and generate again.

These Seed Audio 1.0 use cases are planning examples. Review generated audio for the requirements of each project, including intelligibility, timing, and permission to use reference material.

Video and Short-Form Content

Use Seed Audio 1.0 scene briefs to explore narration with surrounding sound. Specify pauses and dialogue entry points, then compare the result with your video timeline.

Games and Interactive Stories

Draft character exchanges and environmental sound for a defined location. Seed Audio 1.0 prompts should identify which character speaks and what changes in the environment; review transitions separately.

Advertising Audio Drafts

For a Seed Audio 1.0 advertising prompt, supply the exact line, delivery, and available duration. Check product names and dialogue timing manually. Review drafts and usage permissions.

Podcast-Style Dialogue

Give each speaker a consistent description and separate their turns. Seed Audio 1.0 dialogue prompts can include interruptions or pauses, but begin with a short exchange.

Multilingual Voiceovers

Choose a voice in your target language from the voice support list, then select Use this voice to open the generator. Add your translated script and pronunciation notes. The selected voice determines the spoken language on this website. Have a fluent speaker review pronunciation, phrasing, and delivery before publishing.

Creative Audio Prototyping

Compare alternative scene descriptions before recording or mixing a final soundtrack. Vary ambience or delivery while keeping the script fixed; save each prompt.

Seed Audio 1.0 and Text-to-Speech

Compare a Seed Audio 1.0 audio scene with a speech-only brief by checking which sound elements the project actually requires.

Text-to-Speech

Speech generated from written text; voice, language, and expression controls vary by model.

Seed Audio 1.0

voice performance, environment, timing, dialogue context, sound effects, multilingual delivery, or the relationship between several audio elements

For speech-only work, compare pronunciation and delivery. For scene audio, also assess environmental balance and event order. Neither category removes the need to review the output.

FAQs

Seed Audio 1.0 FAQ

What is Seed Audio 1.0?

It is ByteDance Seed’s audio creation model for speech and other scene elements. A prompt can describe dialogue, delivery, ambience, and sound effects together.

How long can my prompt be?

The Describe your audio field accepts up to 2,800 characters, including spaces and punctuation. The counter shows your current character count. Include the dialogue, speakers, setting, and sound cues your scene needs.

How does Seed Audio 1.0 differ from text-to-speech?

Text-to-speech focuses on converting text into spoken audio. Scene generation also describes surrounding sound and event relationships. Expression controls vary between TTS models.

How do I write a Seed Audio 1.0 prompt?

Include the setting, speaker, exact words, delivery, and relevant sound cues. State events in listening order. Revise one instruction at a time.

What reference files can I upload?

Select Reference audio to upload up to 3 clips, each no longer than 30 seconds and no larger than 10 MB. Supported audio formats are WAV, MP3, and Ogg Opus; raw PCM uploads are not supported. Reference image accepts 1 JPEG, PNG, or WebP image up to 10 MB. A text prompt is required with either reference type.

How do I choose the spoken language?

Seed Audio 1.0 has multilingual capabilities, but the controls available depend on the service. On this website, choose a voice in your target language from the voice support list and select Use this voice. Generation follows that voice’s language. Prompt only, Auto-select voice, Reference audio, and Reference image use English by default; a prompt or uploaded reference in another language does not switch the output language.

How long can Seed Audio 1.0 generate audio?

The developer specifies up to two minutes per pass and further continuation. This workspace does not expose a dedicated continuation operation. Edit longer sequences outside the tool.

Can I combine a built-in voice with audio or image references?

Choose one mode per generation: Prompt only, Voice library, Reference audio, or Reference image. Only the selected mode is sent with your prompt. A saved voice, audio clip, or image from another mode is not included.

Which audio output formats can I choose?

Open Show settings to choose MP3, WAV, PCM, or Opus under File format. MP3 is the default. PCM is available as an output format even though raw PCM reference uploads are not supported.

Where can I listen to and download my audio?

Listen to a completed result in Audio preview. Open My Creations to find your saved generations and use the Download action to save a result to your device.
